Pendulums are an ancient tool for dowsing to ask questions from your higher self.
Step one: Center yourself & relax. Breathe deeply in and out to relax your mind and body.
Step two: Next, sit peaceful with your pendulum while holding it in your reception hand. Connect with your pendulum by feeling it in your hand and imagining the movement of the pendulum.
Step three: Establish a connection and identify your "Yes" and "No." Hold the pendulum 3-4 inches above the palm of your hand. Begin to ask simple yes/no questions that you know the answers to and see what the responses are. I like to say "My name is..." Take note of what happens for each response in a journal or a piece of paper.
Step four: Ask your questions. This is the easy part, but you must keep in mind that the pendulum can only answer simple yes/no questions. If you ask something that isn't directly a yes or no, your answer won't be clear. Most importantly, have fun!
